How do I take my Chinese herbal medicine?

Taking your Chinese herbal medicine from the Fertility and IVF Acupuncture Clinic is simple. Boil a kettle, then half fill a mug with the freshly boiled water. Use the provided spoon to measure the recommended dosage and put the herbal granules into the water. Stir vigorously so that the granules fully disolve. The Chinese herbal medicine dispensed from the Fertility and IVF Acupuncture Clinic are high quality granulated herbs. This means the herbs will dissolve easily. Since the water is so hot, it is best to wait a few minutes before you drink your herbal medicine.

If you have trouble drinking the herbs, use a mouthwash or fruit juice to rinse your mouth afterwards. Another method to help make the herbs more palatable is to add some honey. If you still have trouble, reduce the amount of water so that you can drink the decoction much faster. In time you, will learn to adjust how you mix your Chinese herbal medicine formulas to best suit you. If you continue to have difficulty let Dr Wilson know. It is also wise to check with Dr Wilson to make sure you are preparing your herbal decoction correctly so as to not alter the efficacy.
